LICENCE TO DREDGE
Following the introduction of the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, on 6th April 2011, all dredging requires two licences; a licence to dredge from the Port of Tyne and a licence to dredge and/or dispose of dredged material, which must be obtained from the Marine Management Organisation (MMO).

A River Works Licence is required for any works in the River Tyne; this process ensures that all developments in the river are assessed for their potential impact on safety of navigation and the environment.
