Susan Wear
Director of Corporate Affairs
Susan Wear joined the Port of Tyne in October 2010 as Director of Corporate Affairs.
Starting her career as a trainee journalist on the Shields Gazette, and working in various regional newspapers for 12 years, Susan moved into a communications role with the 1990 National Garden Festival at Gateshead and has since worked in the private sector, in health, and in local government. As one of the team that launched the Newcastle Gateshead Initiative she led the publicity for the European Capital of Culture bid.
She has had previous roles as Head of Communications for Sunderland City Council and Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
