Ian Gibson
Director of Logistics
Ian Gibson started his career in 1983 with Les Sampson Services a container haulier based in Sunderland Port as a transport operator.
An acknowledged expert in container handling and warehousing, in 1991, Ian set up Tyne Logistics Company with the shipping line MOL. Primarily to establish the Nissan containerisation project industry and to develop the container transport and terminal business at the Port of Tyne.
Ian was appointed Director and General Manager of Tyne Logistics Company, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Port of Tyne, in 2002. In 2009 Ian was appointed Director of Logistics for the Port of Tyne.
